APPLE FILLING

INGREDIENTS

GROUP 1

1000g        Granny Smith Apples

200g            Sugar

500g            Water (Variable)

 

GROUP 2

50g               Arrowroot

100g             Sugar (variable)

50g               Water

 

PROCEDURE.

  1. Peel, De seed and slice apples, place in large pot with sugar and water. Water should be just below covering apples.
  2. boil till apples soft, mash with potato masher, taste to see if sweet enough. if not add additional sugar from group 2.
  3. Mix together Arrowroot and water, add to apple mixture and stir in till thickened.

 

HELPFUL TIP* – I like to drain my apples a bit before mashing, also add arrowroot in slowly as the liquid may vary and consistancy will be slightly different each time.
